Testing to Regional Standards

Whilst EN and ISO Standards are widely accepted as the providing the baseline for RPD performance, it is sometimes necessary for manufacturers to demonstrate compliance to specific regional standards.

Breathe Laboratory has worked with a number of established manufacturers to review these standards, produce detailed gap analyses and also to conduct testing as required. The process of entry to these markets can differ to what happens in Europe so we can support you with activities such as pre-submission testing.

Regional Standard Gap Analysis

An example was where a UK self-contained breathing apparatus manufacturer was tendering for a contract in India. Breathe Laboratory took on the project of comparing EN137 to the Indian Standard IS 10245 (Part 2):1994. By analysing the test requirements and methods of IS 10245 (Part 2):1994 we were able to provide the manufacturer with a useable report that detailed the conformance and non-conformance of their breathing apparatus system.

To date, Japanese, Indian, Russian, Australia/New Zealand and American NIOSH Standards have been worked with.
