Max Diffey
Laboratory Manager

Max has been with Breathe since 2016 and assumed responsibility for the testing laboratory in 2017. This included maintenance of the ISO 17025 accreditation, whilst also being the primary test engineer and progressing several extensions to scope.

Since then he has overseen the development and growth of the laboratory as a standalone business unit. Prior to that he had experience as ISO 9001 quality manager and ISO 14001 environmental manager. 

Max’s primary responsibilities are:

  • Maintenance of ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Business development and customer relations
  • Contributing to standards development and technical committee discussions
  • Project management
  • Staff training and auditing

Jason Graves
Technical  Manager

Jason’s previous roles, spanning 32 years in the Respiratory Protection industry, have included accredited RPD testing, PPE regulatory affairs, application engineering, RPD product design, PAPR & filter manufacturing , technology development, RPD outsource management, intellectual property portfolio evolution, auditing quality and EHS systems, and laboratory management. 

Jason is responsible for: 

  • Maintaining UKAS accreditation
  • Auditing quality management systems
  • Extending ISO 17025 testing scope
  • Commissioning new equipment
  • Hosting witness testing days

Matthew Bispham
Senior Test Engineer

Matthew’s previous roles, spanning 12 years within laboratory environments, have included CBRN work for the Ministry of Defence, testing and validation of novel chemical sensor concepts, GMP biopharmaceutical work, instrument calibration and medical systems testing and development. 

On a day-to-day basis Matthew carries out:

  • CE/UKCA type approval testing
  • Pre-approval and development testing
  • Commissioning of new equipment
  • Facility maintenance
  • Daily management of projects and record keeping
